Vessels of the Spirit Series.
Collection of Whangarei Public Art Gallery and Museum, Purchased from my Survey Exhibition 1998.
After the death of my mother in Kaikoura in1992, I began the Vessels of the Spirit series.
Each work was made using a chainsaw and finished with angle grinder and blow torch.
Some 'Tree of Life' works were exhibited with plywood shadow form cutouts.
Dimensions: Height 1800mm x Width 550mm x Depth 150mm.
Material: Demolition Kauri, acrylic paint, dammar resin and beeswax, steel base plate.
